Finding Yourself

I think decorating your home is probably about the best way to discover things about yourself. As you pick up pieces to furnish and decorate your house you realize who you are. I've discovered I like strong contrast. Brown and white or blue and white or blue and yellow, etc, etc, etc. For instance I love my oak shelf with all my cream ware and milk glass collection. There's something about all that white against the brown oak that just speaks to me.

Lucky me found another piece for this shelf just the other day while out shopping with my BFF, Kelly. Which means I will be making changes in this display to add the new treasure. Well back to painting.

Oooh - Hi there. I must be like you too! I love white against natural wood. I like the contrast so much that sometimes I can't bring myself to paint timber. Your shelf is adorable.

Hey Amanda! Love all your white stuff! :) I'm a lover of all things white. LOL I think you're right, I have found out a lot about myself while decorating my home too. I am a bit eclectic in the sense that I like the cottage/farmhouse style, but also mixed with some elegant pieces as well. I like the dark oil rubbed bronze, but also love the older finishes and textures like ceiling tin. :) It's kind of fun to discover what you love..my style has changed a lot over the years. :)
Thanks for linking up to my party! Isn't it fun to have a partner in grime. :) hee hee hee
Have a great "rest of the week"!

I have become a follower. I am a blue and white person with the touches of browns and creams. I love your post and have looked at some of your other rooms and have gotten some wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend, Sherry

I also love stained wood in different finishes!
The white in contrast with your shelf looks beautiful!
Everything all white for me personally is to stark and too boring!

I LOVE your collection of creamware, Amanda! The contrast does look wonderful against the oak shelf. I love the way you have it all displayed, too.
Have a nice visit with your family!
