Las Vegas

Well the trip to Vegas was a disappointment in so many ways. It was hot (115) and the competition, well that's another subject for another day. Like tomorrow!! I thought I would share some of Seth's amazing photography that he took while walking the strip. If you've never been to Las Vegas it's a city that is way over the top on everything. They borrowed from Texas that bigger is better and humongous is terrific. We stayed at Treasure Island and the beds were the nicest hotel beds I've ever slept on. Most hotel beds are hard and uncomfortable but not these. The trip was okay and Seth and I had fun. He enjoyed the pool at the hotel and I enjoyed the air conditioned room where I read and played games on the laptop. I should add that a lot of the hotels put on free shows at night in front of their buildings. Treasure Island puts on some kind of pirate show complete with ships on water and one that sinks. Mirage does a volcano show and another does a fountain show. It's all to entice you in and make you spend money at their casinos. A lot of people walk up and down the strip enjoying the shows, shopping, gambling, drinking, etc. We walk, enjoy the shows and virgin strawberry daiquiris which are great slushies in so many ways. So here finally is some of his photography:

Coca Cola and M&M world. Seth is a huge Coca Cola fan and wanted to see these 2 shops.

This is a picture of Baker, CA. A city along the way to Las Vegas. It gets pretty hot here and the city has a thermometer in the middle of town. That's the tall white thing with numbers.
Hope you enjoyed the Las Vegas strip with us. Tomorrow we'll talk about the competition.

Fun in the Sun

Our first week of traveling was spent camping with friends on the coast. We had a marvelous time. Of course the weather was great, the company was great and the beach was great. Seems like there is always time for things at the beach that you don't have time for normally.
Visiting with a great group of friends,
Eating at the best fish and chip place,
making bunny ears on the notorious bunny ear maker,
Trying to get senior pictures for the upcoming senior,
Making sand castles and playing in the sand,
Putting on wet suits and hitting the waves,
Catching the big wave,
Catching the small wave,
Riding the wave all the way in,
Making sure the humans are gone so that we can raid the camp of fallen and unattended goodies.
Hope you enjoyed some of the pics that I took during our week at the beach. Tomorrow week #2 or the trip to Las Vegas. I'm off to fill the fridge with food. Imagine 3 weeks gone and the fridge is bare. How did that happen? I'll be around to catch up with everyone. Take care.

Happy Anniversary

20 years ago today I married the love of my life, Neil. It hasn't always been a bed of roses, but I can't wait to do another 20 years. We had a very simple wedding in my aunt's backyard. His brother was his attendant and my best friend from high school was mine. I don't think we even spent $500 on this wedding, but I'd do it the same way all over again.
Not the best shot, but hey pre digital photos here.
Open up!
Unwrapping the gifts
We share Neil's Uncle Ken and Aunt Lee's wedding date. They were celebrating their 32nd anniversary the day we got married. Uncle Ken is now gone or they would be celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary today.
L to R: my mom, Sheryll, Neil, Amanda, Neil's mom, Roma and Neil's dad, Dick.
One of my favorite photos. Don't know why. I think its because of the way he's looking at me.
Best of wishes and advice from my mom, who is also gone now.
I did complete our wedding album last year. I should say that I redid our wedding album. Putting it into photo safe paper, etc. It was really sad in some ways looking back over the photos and realizing how many of our loved ones are now gone who were present that day. We still love and miss them.
Hope you enjoyed a trip down memory lane with me.
To my sweet Hubby, here's to another 20 years. Love you!!!
