Cloche Affair

Okay so I have totally been having an affair. An affair you say???? What??? Yes an affair with cloches. I just can't seem to get enough of them. Of course they are pricey and it takes awhile to save up for them. So I've got two cloche projects I'm going to share with you. One was cheap and one was not too cheap but still under $20 for the whole thing. I just love bargains. I started with the dome. Fell in love with it at the shop. But it looked so lonely by itself. What to do?
Visit your favorite thrift store of course and pick up a candlestick holder and a plate.
Glue plate to candlestick holder, add cute little item, cover with cloche, tada! Not lonely anymore.
I got the idea for the cheese dome cloche after reading about it here. I thought okay I've got an extra one left laying around here somewhere. I gave them away as Christmas gifts to co-workers 2 years ago. I made the cheese dome/plate/candlestick holders into cute pedestals which I put Christmas cookies under. (Wondering what I'm going to come up with for them this year??) It's not complete yet. I have to paint the candlestick holder and cheese dome base. Can't decide which color yet. Any ideas?
My third cloche is my large one which I just love. Yes it was pricey. But I saved for it and knew I would use it for a long time. Picture is a bit blurry, sorry.
So here's hoping you have a great week.

I cannot believe you read ALL my posts~! Bless your heart! lol We def do have a lot in common. I am homeschooling my last son, after putting two through the public school system, I'd had enough. My little guy is in 3rd grade and my goodness, he's sharp as a tack! I think he would be happy if I just taught him science and history all the time...he LOVES those classes. (math, not so much!) lol
I went to my mom's house today and she gave me her antique cloche!!! I was SO happy. I'll blog about it later, but I'll go ahead and tell you, I put it on my antique, clear glass cake stand...it looks so good! (I put it in my dining room) :)
I'm glad you liked my island...it was so much fun to build! What I didn't write on my blog, was the aunt that had given it to my mom, was murdered, so it makes the island that much more special to me...you know, since she's gone. Actually today is the anniversary of her death. :( It was a sad day and so senseless.
Anyway, didn't mean to get off on that subject! I'm just glad you liked my island. :)
What state do you live in? Sounds like we'd have a lot of fun together if we lived close.
My email is on my contact page if you ever want to talk without the whole the world reading it! :)
Blessings to you
Melissa

They are a must for cottage living! I think anyway. So many of the old things I keep, require a capsule of protection. I love the job they do and how they look doing it! Cloches can be expensive, if I see any vintage deal.....it's mine! Beautiful things.
